10 Things for January

Dear Reader,

You might laugh if you saw me right now.

I’m wearing Goop eye patches, walking on the treadmill in my pajamas, speaking into my Substack app, voice-to-text. This is my way of “writing” to you while I accomplish other priorities.

As I shared lately, I am trying to find the most efficient way to share things I love with you, especially in this season of life, when motherhood and other projects require more time.

(For those of you that create content and feel like you can’t get it all in, I highly recommend this voice-to-text method.)

Although I don’t plan to do many round ups in 2025, I will make an effort to keep my 10 Things alive.

It’s low-committal, especially when I’m doing it in voice-to-text form while I’m on the treadmill.

In any event, here are the 10 things I am doing/loving this January.

xx Megan

Wearing

I Don’t Care BootsI coined these as my “IDC boot” because I truly don’t care what happens to them, yet they look pretty damn cool for the price-point. Weatherproof, durable, and feel very Row.

CoH Miro — if I could only have one pair of denim, this would be it. I have a size 23, 24, and 25. They run big (I am selling my size 25, if anyone is interested — would be good for a normal 26er). I have both Pacifica color way and the darker wash. They are the perfect barrel without being two barrely, if y’know what I mean.

Old Prada — because of course? Kind of vibing with the nylon bags and pouches that I could use at the gym, during travel, or simply in everyday life as a mom.

Knee-length leggings — not in the athletic sense, though. I like these paired with a white button up or pretty knit. This Ponte also catches my attention; the fabric is substantial so it doesn't read to Lululemon.

Home

Sharland England — I bought this splatter mug from Sharland England (we all need a pretty mug for hot bevs this month), and later found myself going down a steep dive on the site. Louise Roe, founder and fashion journalist, designs from a place of nostalgic charm. Think whicker, hand-painted ceramics, embroidered linens — all darling.

Health/Wellness

Colonic — I booked my first colonic in years, scheduled end of January. Judge it how you wish, I have found them to be both detoxifying and therapeutic. If you want an at-home solution, consider a coffee enema— not a perfect comparison, but a teaser to the bigger event, if you will.

Singing bowls — someone asked me to share more on my singing bowls and I simply replied: sound healing, that’s all I know. That’s enough for me, though.

Eliminate distractions — high on my 2025 resolution list. My only tangible advice is to put on blinders. Consume less digital content (mute, if need be). Turn off notifications, and put time limits on apps. Instill firm boundaries on tasks and projects that don’t fulfill you. Most importantly, practice all the above (because it is a damn practice).

Beauty

Westman Atelier Super Loaded Liquid Highlight — Longtime fan of Gucci’s stuff, but her liquid highlight is my new favorite. It gives a little flush and glow in the most subtle way. I have the rose color (“pink oyster”).

YSE Glow Primer SPF — on the topic of pretty glow, YSE’s glow primer is fantastic. The bonus here is that it includes SPF, so it protects your skin.
