Winter Skin Remedies

One of my favorite thing to talk about with other women: skincare. Seriously, it seems like skincare is one of those things that unites women—it doesn’t matter who you are, or what you believe, or what you think—we can all jive and connect when it comes for caring for our skin and beauty.

Okay, so let’s talk skincare—winter skincare. During this time of year, my skin gets dry and flakey, so I need some major exfoliation and moisturizers to keep a healthy, dewy glow.

Here are some products I love and swear by during these winter months. Currently using them all!

Exfoliation

I need to exfoliate more than ever during winter (that dry, flakey skin man). My favorite facial exfoliation is Omorovisca’s Facial Polish; it deeply cleanses but also makes my skin baby soft! I use this product 1-2 times a week. It is a bit pricey, but for good reason—they use the highest quality ingredients and they work so. freaking. well.

I’ve also loved Sara Happ’s lip exfoliation this winter (I have the berry and vanilla flavors). I use this once or twice weekly as well.

Face/Lip Moisture

Recently I’ve loved Vintner’s Daughter serum. It is oil based, so it provides added moisture while it brightens the skin and helps minimize fine lines. This product can be used AM and PM. In the evening, I top it with GoopGenes face cream—it’s super rich and awesome for dry winter skin.

I have also been enjoying Chantecaille’s Stress Repair eye cream, but it can be used anywhere with fine lines (I also use it on and around my lips). It seeps so beautifully into the skin.

In the evening (okay, and daytime) I use Laneige sleep mask for my lips. I love this vanilla flavor, but my favorite is the berry.

Body/Hand Moisture

During the winter months, I need a thicker body cream for my entire body. I should apply more regularly, but I usually just moisturize after I get out of the shower and/or bath. The one I’ve loved this winter is the GoopGenes Body Butter—it is thick, creamy, but seeps nicely into the skin.

For my hands, I swear by the Aveda Hand Relief Night Serum (this is different than the ordinary Hand Relief by Aveda). I’ve used the serum for years and I swear nothing works better for dry winter hands.
