Recipe: My Father’s Hummus
My father introduced me to hummus as a little girl (before many of the brands were even sold in grocery stores!), and this is the hummus recipe he always made us. Just recently, Michel and I visited my dad in Boca Raton, Florida, and he made us his hummus. It brought back all the memories.
This recipe is so simple, yet so yummy—I thought I would share it with my fellow girlfriends!
Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS:
2 cans of chickpeas/garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
6-7 TB extra olive oil
1-2 lemons, squeezed for juice
2 garlic cloves
Salt + pepper
Optional: cayenne pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
Start by draining and rinsing he garbanzo beans, then pour them into the processor. Give them a quick spin the food processor.

Blend until creamy and add salty + pepper to taste.
Serve topped with cayenne pepper (optional), and serve with warm pita, vegetables, or use it as a spread on sandwiches.
