Forever Favorite Hair Products & Tools
When it comes to the color and the style of my hair, I’m pretty low-maintenance (really, I’d like to keep my salon visits to a minimum). However, when it comes to hair products and tools, I’m pretty particular. Really, I can’t be without my favorites — I even travel with the mini-sized versions of my product, and I always bring my tools in my luggage.
OKAY so favorites! Back in 2011, I was introduced to Oribe, and ever since, I can’t go any different direction for shampoo and conditioner (right now, I have and love the Gold Lust liters, but I also love the Volumizing line). I also always use their Maximista spray prior to drying so my fine hair.
As for tools, I have owned and adored my Mason Pearson brushes (mini and regular-sized) and rake comb for years. I’ve also loved my Dyson hair dryer and my GHD 1.25 inch curling iron. These are definitely investment pieces, but forever items. Lastly, I use Slip silk products to keep my strands from breaking.
In terms of styling, I worked for an Aveda salon and discovered a couple products I’ll never be without (see below). Beyond that, my most recent love is Balmain Silk Perfume — a detangler and heat-protectant with the most subtle, clean scent.
I should note: I recognize several of these products aren’t perfectly “clean,” but they’re the “poison” I’ve chosen. They make me happy, they create a beautiful experience, and at the end of the day, they wash out of my hair, rather than sit on my skin or digest inside my body.
