10 Things for August
WEARABLE
Low Slung Baggy Denim
Now that I’m officially postpartum, I am diving into a ton of denim. Of all the styles I’ve tried and shared (which has been a lot), my favorite right now is the Low Slung Baggy denim by Agolde. They’re so good, I bought three colors: Tusk, Fragment, and Milkshake.
Suede Clogs
When I was 12, this was my favorite shoe, and now that I’m 34, I swoon over The Row’s luxury reiteration. Not sure I can justify the price tag (I own several of these suede clogs by Jenni Kayne already), but I’m a click away from buying these by A. Emery for a more humble price-point.
Red-y or Not
Other colors will have their short-live seasonal trend moment, but red will forever live on as *the* pop of color, IMO. Seeing a lot of fiery red hues right now. I just got this cashmere tank (MeganK10), and I sort of love this set. Also, the shape/color of this clutch is ultra chic (could also be used as a beauty bag or catch-all in a bigger tote). Also love Staud’s muted tones with this mini and this square neck maxi.
BEAUTY
Hermès Sheer Nail Polish
Been an advocate for the “no manicure” manicure look for years (i.e., the clean nail look with one coat of simple sheer polish). A fellow reader turned me onto Hermès polish — specifically, number 01 and number 06. These sheers aren’t only gorgeous but also have inane lasting power. Will always and forever take these to the salon with me.
Crown Affair’s Air Dry Moose
While the season lasts, allow your hair to dry by summer air. Frankly, I was skeptical about Crown Affair’s air dry moose, but it deserves its 5-star rating. It isn’t at all “moosey” in the sense where it separates your hair in that crunchy way. It really just adds body, volume, and texture in a natural way that feels product-free. It’s amaze.
HOME
Feldspar Studio
A British luxury destination, I couldn’t resist these berry bowls when I realized we needed more colanders. I adore the uneven body, the little feet straight from a storybook, and hand-painted rim.
Handmade Quilts
A final summer picnic, a pre-season football game, a cozy night on the sofa… patchwork quilts are practical art pieces. I found these Amish quilts online and I am obsessed (especially love Connie Lapp’s, like this one that comes in other colors too).
Vintage Bud Vases
Lately, I’ve purchased full bouquets from the farmers market and break them down into a gazillion bud vases around our home. It feels like flowers are dancing around the house, adding a little spark to small spaces (a window sill, a small vanity, even next to a larger center piece). I love Etsy for inexpensive crystal bud vases (like this one, this set, and this footed one), but also love these sweet silver options and this tall footed piece.
WELLNESS
The Sculpt Society
I’m really not one to preach any workout program, but I recently downloaded Megan Roup’s TTS app since it offers a best-rated postpartum program (among other workouts). Honestly, I love it. Her classes are quick, effective, informative, and I dig her vibe (she brings dancer energy without feeling too cheerleader).
Perelel Health: Cellular Hydration Powder
Started throwing a scoop of this powder in my Stanley water bottle, and I love it. It’s a simple way to “sex up your water” — it adds collagen, hyaluronic acid, sunflower lecithin, and electrolytes.
