Travel Essentials — A Less is More Approach
Over the years, I’ve learned that packing for trips is somewhat of an art form. Not sure about you, but I am not that person that wants to haul a ton of belongings on a trip — I prefer to pack lightly, with only my quality essentials, so that I have less to worry about as a I move throughout my travels.
On top of keeping things limited, I also try to pack only neutral tones: ivory and whites, beige and tan, grey and black. This ensures everything will work together seamlessly so that I don’t have to think much about pairing items together.
Below, I share my personal guideline for what I pack when I travel. Note that, for purposes of this blog post, I write with the idea that I am taking a trip to a warmer climate for five or so days (a “normal” trip for me). Also, understand this post doesn’t note the obvious details, like packing panties or a toothbrush (duh, right?).
I hope this serves as a helpful guideline!

Toiletries/Cosmetics
Cuyana travel set — I have used my travel case set for as long as I can remember (truly, years and years!). I love that it comes with a larger case and smaller case — I use the larger one for toiletries and the smaller one for make up.
RMS makeup remover wipes — the easiest, travel-friendly cleansing wipe made with coconut oil. A must for me.
RMS makeup — RMS makeup is easily packable, is multi-purposeful, and is extra moisturizing with a coconut oil base.
Travel sizes of my favorites: Oribe’s Gold Lust shampoo and conditioner, YTTP face wash, YTTP moisture cream, my mini Mason Pearson, etc.
*Note: I’ll often save all my skincare samples that I receive from cosmetic purchases from Nordstrom and use those when I travel. If I don’t have a mini of something, I will absolutely bring the full size.
Wearables
Tops
Solid tees — I’ll pack three solid-colored (or striped) tee shirts that I can wear with anything. I love a good white tee, but I also love a muted color. I’ll also pack a white button down, usually.
Sweater or cardigan — either a cashmere or cotton blend for chilly evenings.
Mid-weight jacket — just in case you need the extra layer (I often bring a denim jacket).
Bottoms
Favorite denim — in addition to the pants I wear while traveling, I will bring one pair of blue jeans and another color as well (like ivory or black). If the climate it warm, I'll go with a cropped denim or roll up the length of a full leg.
One pair of denim shorts — just to have the option. I love Agolde’s Parker short.
Shoes — I’ll wear a flat/loafer when I’m traveling, but I’ll also pack:
Easy sandals — I’ll bring one nice pair for clothing and my Havaianas for the pool/beach.
Sneakers — something versatile and suitable for walking.
Swimsuit — usually I pack 1-2 swimsuits and a coverup (note: an oversized white Oxford can work as both a top and coverup!).
Sunglasses — take a classic pair to go with anything.
One set of pajamas and cozy socks.
Tote or market bag — in addition to my bag I bring on the flight, I like to bring a bigger bag for pool, beach, or shopping.
Flight/Transit
Moisture essentials — traveling is drying, so I always carry Evian face spray, a great lip balm, and a hand cream.
Journal — I like to write/reflect while I travel.
AirPods — for podcasts or music
