Reflection: Live Like It’s Spring
So, I’ll be real: in terms of climate, March doesn’t shift much from February or January where I live. Most of March feels like winter—cold and gray.
But in my mind and body, I feel a spring shift (perhaps it’s subconscious, knowing that spring is on the calendar this month). Similar to how lime green buds blossom from a weathered branch, I have a bright renewed energy emerging out of this cold climate. A desire to revive the old and start fresh in many regards—with my home and closet, my daily routines and exercises, my ideas and inspiration resources, even my digital presence and engagement.
I’ve found a deeper commitment to shift out of the things that weigh me down, and lean into the things that fill me up.
For example, these last few days, I sifted through our closets, cabinets, and drawers and decided to donate/sell all the things that no longer serve us. Also, each day, I take a little time slot to unfollow/mute accounts on social media that no longer inspire me (or simply bring me out of a harmonious state). I’ve even changed the way I move my body, choosing to run less and walk more, which feels right for this time in my life as a pregnant woman.
In other words, I’ve felt determined to shift in small ways that restore my mind, body, and spirit so that I can be brighter in the world. I feel committed towards incremental lightness, similar to the way that the dark winter gradually shifts into a lighter spring.
As much as I look forward to a warmer spring climate, I gotta say the energetic shift is serving me pretty well right now.
What are some ways you can shift into a lighter being this spring? What are some ways that you can live like spring?
