Recipe: Berry Coconut Protein Smoothie (Vegan)
Okay, so I’ve been taking in a lot more protein third trimester — my body has craved it, so I have honored that calling.
I’ve experimented with so many plant proteins on the market, and I’ll be honest: it’s hard to find one that tastes good, makes me feel good, and is made with pure ingredients (so much can go wrong with ingredients, esp with protein), and makes me feel good.
Recently, I discovered Cymbiotika plant protein — and it is my new favorite. It’s a bit pricier, but I swear, this stuff is GOLD and is loaded with so many beneficial nutrients (from power greens, like spirulina adaptogenic mushrooms, and more). It truly feels like it’s been fueling every cell of my body. I’ve also played with Truvani recently — it’s clean and plant-based. I really like her chocolate flavor, despite being a vanilla gal!
Okay — so onto the smoothie. I have legitimately been drinking this smoothie every single morning for the past month or so. It’s me and my husband’s go-to in the morning — it’s not sweet, but not too sweet. It’s loaded with clean protein and nutrients, and gives me this powerful fuel up until lunchtime.
I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do!
xoxo

INGREDIENTS
1 scoop of plant-based protein (see above for my favorites)
1/2 cup of frozen mixed berries
1/3 frozen banana
1 TB chia seed
1/2 cup coconut water
1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk
Toppings: coconut chips and/or nut butter
DIRECTIONS
Add frozen berries and banana to the blender and combine with the coconut water and almond milk. I find doing this first allows the cold to thaw and makes blending easier.
Add the protein and chia seed.
Blend on medium-high.
Pour and top with coconut chips (I like Dang) and/or a runny nut butter.
Enjoy!
