Home Details: Everhem Drapery

A Frequent Question

Almost every time I post an outfit mirror-selfie in my bedroom, I receive a specific DM inquiry.

And no, the question isn’t about my outfit.

Where did you get your drapery?!

In the background, my Everhem drapery often makes more of a statement than my outfit.

When we moved into our new home, I made custom drapery a top priority.

Customized drapery makes an incredible difference in the energy of a room. Similar to tailoring a suit to your specific body, tailored window treatments polish a space and make everything look, well, more customized.

The Drapes I Chose

After a lot of research, I decided to work with Everhem to install drapes in our Primary bedroom, Kennedy’s bedroom, and nursery for our baby-on-the-way.

I ordered all the free swatches, and ultimately chose the Bone color way, a light ivory, which reads a bit warmer than their white Moon option. I’m a sucker for serene ivory drapes in bedroom— feels so calming to me.

I selected a blackout liner (because I need it pitch black when I sleep), and I am so impressed with how it pulls out all the light.

Also, I decided to go with a pinch-pleat at the header of the drapes. Feels so elegant.

Lastly, I did a 3/4” curved rod (the smaller option, because I tend to like a smaller-scale these days) in black matte for our bedroom and brass for both Kennedy’s room and our baby’s nursery.

The Customization Process

In all honesty, I was so nervous I was going to royally screw up the measurements (this was my first time ever measuring my own window treatments!), but Everhem made the process so easy.

My ideal drape is one that “kisses the floor” — not too short, but not too long either (although the long romantic look is pretty, it also looks less customized to me).

Another thing I love: how tailored drapes can give the illusion of a larger window. By placing the rod above the window and adding at least an 8-inch stack of drape on each side, your window instantly looks bigger.

Everhem created video tutorials on how to perfectly measure for this look — if you follow this, you’ll have no issue.

The Install Process

When your drapery arrives (in 8 weeks or so), your window treatments and rods will be labeled exactly how you organized your rooms on the Everhem website (e..g, Kennedy’s Room, Primary Bedroom, Nursery, etc.).

Being frank, I have so much going on that I had my handyman install the drapes for me.

In all honesty, this was a lazy girl move, because Everhem has tutorials on how to do the install as well. They make it SO simple.

Major Takeaway

Overall, I am beyond pleased with the entire experience I had with Everhem — from the customer service (weeks later, I chose to change our girls’ rods on my order, and they did this without issue), to the customization process, to the overall look and feel of the drapes themself.

Highly highly recommend Everhem to you and anyone you love!

xx
