An Ethos: Living Well at Home

To me, “living well” stems beyond what what we put on our plate and how we exercise our bodies.

Living well is our inner narrative—a commitment to move through life with grounded optimism, to find beauty and lightness in all that we do.

Living well means removing excess that clogs are well-being, whether that’s a toxic relationship or the unworn clothing inside our closet.

Living well means engaging with the material world in a way that brings us inner peace. Maybe that means starting a morning in silence, or appreciating the way sunlight dances on your walls. Maybe it means listening to your gut over your brain, or buying the damn flowers for your dining table.

Living well is the commitment to joy; to relish in this sacred, short experience we have on earth. It is an inner knowing that, when we slip out of joy, we will find our way back to it.

Living well is embracing the inevitability of imperfection, of change, of temporariness, trusting that mistakes and hardships are opportunities for greater evolution.

Living well is a feeling — it is an energy that words cannot describe, a feeling of higher vibration.

Living well, to me, begins in the home. It is the ethos that we surround ourself with, the one we wake up to and fall asleep in. It is our cup of coffee, our bedroom sheets. It is the way we prepare our food and sit down at the table to consume it.

Our home is our nucleus for growing light and inner peace; it is where we practice living well. When we commit to this practice, we are better able to extend our light with others outside our home.

Living well begins at home.
